NOVUS IDEA // DATA PROTECTION & PRIVACY POLICY

Privacy Policy.

Effective Date: November 6, 2026 • Last Updated: November 6, 2026. This Privacy Policy describes how Novus Idea (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information across our website (www.novusidea.net), our proprietary CyberVGA SDK, and all Novus Idea games including Racing The Beam, COUNTED, FUSED, Cat Burglar, and Harmony Tree.

ZERO AD TRACKING

No Telemetry or Data Brokers

Novus Idea does not embed advertising SDKs, behavioral analytics trackers, or third-party marketing pixels in our website, engine, or games. We never sell or rent user data.

LOCAL-FIRST STORAGE

Offline & Standalone Builds

Our itch.io standalone titles and the CyberVGA SDK operate 100% locally. Driver career profiles (PROFILES.IDX, BEAMDRV.PRF) and settings are saved directly on your device.

STEAMWORKS + EOS P2P

Scoped Storefront Services

In the Steam and Epic Games Store editions of Racing The Beam, platform data is used strictly for P2P crossplay lobbies, achievements, lap leaderboards, and cloud saves.

1. Data Controller & Studio Identity

The controller responsible for the products and website covered by this policy is Novus Idea, located at Küçükyalı Merkez Mahallesi, Maltepe, İSTANBUL, Türkiye (Direct Contact: [email protected]).

2. Website Visits (www.novusidea.net)

Our official studio website is a static site. We do not use first-party tracking cookies, registration forms, or behavioral analytics scripts. When you load pages on www.novusidea.net, standard HTTP request metadata (such as your IP address, browser type, and requested URL) may be processed transiently by our web hosting infrastructure and content delivery networks (Google Fonts, jsDelivr for Bootstrap, and Cloudflare CDN for Font Awesome) strictly to deliver static assets and maintain network security.

3. Standalone Games & CyberVGA SDK (itch.io / DRM-Free Editions)

Standalone Windows, MS-DOS, and browser builds distributed through our itch.io storefront—including the Racing The Beam Single-Player PWYW Edition, COUNTED, FUSED, Cat Burglar, and the CyberVGA SDK—execute entirely offline on your local machine. They do not collect, transmit, or store any personal data, telemetry, or crash dumps on external servers. All career progress, lap records, and user preferences are stored locally on your device (or within your browser's local sandbox for HTML5 web builds hosted on itch.io).

4. Steam & Epic Games Store Editions of Racing The Beam

The full multiplayer editions of Racing The Beam distributed on Steam (AppID 5565970) and the Epic Games Store integrate the Valve Steamworks SDK and Epic Online Services (EOS) (including Epic Account Services and EOS Connect) to enable cross-store peer-to-peer (P2P) multiplayer, achievements, global lap statistics, and cloud saves. When you run these editions, the game client accesses the following platform-scoped data:

  • Platform Account & Session Identifiers: Your SteamID, Epic Account ID, and EOS Product User ID (PUID) are processed in memory via SteamAPI, EOS_Auth, and EOS_Connect to authenticate your session and connect Steam and Epic players in crossplay lobbies.
  • Public Display Name & Store Locale: Your Steam persona name or Epic display name is read to seed your default in-game driver profile name and identify your stock car to other players in multiplayer lobbies. Your storefront language code is read to automatically select one of the 11 localized UI languages.
  • Peer-to-Peer (P2P) Multiplayer & Presence: When you host or join an online race lobby, real-time simulation packets (car position, velocity, yaw, race standings, and lobby join codes) are exchanged between lobby participants via EOS_P2P relay connections, EOS_Lobby, and Steam Lobbies. Rich Presence status strings (such as current game mode and speedway) are shared with your platform friends list via ISteamFriends and EOS_Presence. Novus Idea does not operate central game servers or record player IP addresses.
  • Achievements, Track Lap Stats & Cloud Saves: Unlock progress for the 5 in-game achievements and per-track fastest lap times (best_lap_t0–best_lap_t19 stored in Q16.16 fixed-point seconds) are synchronized with Steamworks Stats & Achievements and EOS Achievements. Local profile files (PROFILES.IDX, BEAMDRV.PRF, PROF_*.PRF) are backed up via Steam Auto-Cloud and Epic Cloud Saves.

5. Data Sharing & Third-Party Platform Providers

Novus Idea does not maintain an independent server database of player personal information and never sells or shares user data with advertisers. Platform data processed at runtime is shared solely with: (a) other players currently joined to your active multiplayer lobby (specifically your display name, PUID/lobby slot, and in-race car telemetry), and (b) your chosen storefront and online service providers—Valve Corporation (Steamworks) and Epic Games, Inc. (Epic Games Store / Epic Online Services)—whose handling of your account data is governed by the Valve Privacy Policy and the Epic Games Privacy Policy.

6. Data Retention, Deletion & Your Rights (GDPR / KVKK / CCPA)

Depending on your jurisdiction (including under the EU General Data Protection Regulation [GDPR], Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 [KVKK], and the California Consumer Privacy Act [CCPA]), you have the right to access, correct, port, or erase your personal data, and to withdraw consent:

  • Deleting Local Career Profiles: You can delete or reset any driver profile at any time inside the game's Profile Manager or by removing PROFILES.IDX, BEAMDRV.PRF, and PROF_*.PRF from your game installation directory.
  • Revoking Epic / Steam Account Access: You can review and revoke application permissions linked to your Epic Games account at any time through your Epic Games Account Portal settings, or manage your Steam Cloud storage, achievement/stat data, and privacy settings via the Steam client.
  • Direct Support & Email Correspondence: If you contact us via email, we use your email address and message contents solely to reply to your inquiry and delete or anonymize correspondence upon request.

7. Children's Privacy & Policy Updates

Our website and games are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age of digital consent in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If we update this Privacy Policy to reflect new titles or technical changes, we will publish the updated text on this page and revise the effective date at the top.
